I remember the day I decided to call you very clearly. I remember being tired of being tired. I just had surgery on my ankle and I wanted to keep mobile. I was scared that my ankle would impact my daily activities and I needed help to stay active. I wanted privacy rather than a crowded gym and I needed something in Orleans because my life is already packed with a full time job, 2 lively kids and an active husband.

What if I had never called you that day? I’m so glad I did!

Together we figured out the diet changes that would work with my life style. I couldn’t make huge changes all at once. But in only 4 months I fit into my skinny jeans!

I love working out with you and the other women and I always look forward to going to the gym… As I never have before. I never thought I’d be able to deadlift 140lbs. I’m totally into the gym thing and can’t image my life without it! A Big thanks to you and to all my powerful sistas!!!Martine

I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for me. Your participation in my journey of getting back on track – back to a healthy and balanced lifestyle has been invaluable!

I realized that I needed your help when I could not get back to “me” on my own, after months of trying. Your assessment revealed things that I knew but could not get beyond and also made me realize how life stresses can affect your overall health and nutrition.

Your sessions brought insight to my nutrition, as well as all the other aspects of my life that were affecting my balance and playing on my eating habits – sleep, stress, emotions, anxiety, etc.

You often went beyond your job, and listened to me vent, encouraged me when I felt I was failing, supported me in hard times… some sessions felt almost like counselling (lol). You read and responded to my emails, analyzed my nutrition diaries, offered advice and solutions/options and sent articles that were relevant to me. You were always available, even on your holidays!

In the 3 months that I have worked with you, I have lost weight, inches, gained muscle mass, but most importantly, I feel like I have control over my health again. I am back on track and I know how to stay on track and also how to get back on track if life sends me a few curve. I feel like ‘me’ again, and that is thanks to you! It’s not perfect, but it’s damn fine! 🙂

You are really great at your job, but beyond that, you are an amazing person! I am thankful that you are in my life!Maryse

I had never weighed so much and most of my clothes didn’t fit. I was sick of feeling “Blah”. Stress triggered my emotional eating habits and I was going through a particularly stressful time in my life. I felt overwhelmed when I first came to see Janet.

My husband had a business event and I had to fit back into my evening dress! Plus all three of my kids were (and still are) in competitive sport & I worried that I couldn’t keep up. A friend who was training at Janet’s gym, recommended that I come see her.

No more excuses!

I got back into my dress! A little late for the initial event, but I am back in it now. I accomplished all I wanted and more. I’m a fit, confident, energetic women!

I love working out with Janet and the others, I look forward to going to the gym. I never thought I’d deadlift 130lbs or enjoy kickboxing as much as I do.D

I needed to get myself on the road to health. I was unhappy with my fitness level and didn’t want to spend money on new cloths because the ones in my closet didn’t fit anymore. I suffered with back pain, low energy and low motivation.

I wanted to set a good example for my children and decided to do something about it. I needed to have more energy, to look and feel like a confident women, proud of her image – chin up and shoulders back.

I made a commitment to myself and got up early to workout 3x a week and got on a healthy eating plan. I put myself first and it paid off in droves.

Not only did I drop 2 pant sizes in a 3 months, but I moved equipment all by myself when it came time for maintenance on the house. Compared to the year before, when two of us struggled to move the same stuff. My health is my wealth.Janet Taylor

I’ve finally figured out what makes it so good for me to have you as a trainer. You make every achievement feel special. Whether or not 15 seated rows at 90 lbs is good or not I’ve no clue. All I know is that you always make me feel like it is. I always leave feeling like I’ve accomplished something!

Thank you for being you 🙂Louise Milne

I didn’t know much about personal trainers except that they were expensive, celebrities had them and I didn’t want one that yelled like Jillian Michaels or was a super buff, juicehead male.

With these stereotypes in hand, I searched google to find non-intimidating, affordable female trainers in my area. I quickly stumbled upon Janet Fougere, a female personal trainer who trained people from her home gym.

Last year I had pants that no longer fit, had no motivation to train and low energy and to my horror, understood what was meant by a “muffin top”. After meeting with Janet, she designed a workout program that I could do on my own at my gym. Unfortunately, lack of motivation was still a factor and I didn’t complete the program. Janet didn’t give up on me and suggested that perhaps a weekly session at her gym might be more motivational. At first, I trained once a week, then twice a week and later bumped up to three times a week – I got the bug!

I started feeling and looking great, getting positive comments on how good I looked, even got my pants to fit properly, shirt tucked in and all. Cloths that didn’t fit me last year are a perfect fit. In 11 weeks, I lost 5.2 lbs, 2.8% body fat and an inch and a three quarters off the waist. My energy level is up, I want to train more often — I’m even planning to train for the entire year in 2014!

Janet’s plan is so simple I don’t understand why the message isn’t out there for more people. Eat 5-6x a day, increase protein, eliminate processed foods and incorporate weight training. Simple! It was an adjustment initially to eat 5 to 6 times a day, especially increasing protein intake. But it didn’t take long to adjust and now its second nature. And the other important ingredient: Train hard or go home.

I love the extras that Janet gives to her clients, the motivational events we play at the gym, cooking lessons, and having guest speakers come in speak to us. Janet ROCKS!!Suzanne

Omg!!! I’m so proud..can’t believe I did it!

Love a challenge…

Thanks for encouraging me! I would of never thought I’d get this into it…I mean the whole gym thing…

Thanks for making it a great experience! You’re the best!Izzy

I began doing triathlons last year and soon realized that in order to compete with the men my age that I would need to build strength in my core and legs. I knew Janet had a great deal of experience with resistance training from her body building competitions. I met with her and explained my goals for this year and next. I was impressed right away by the time she took to understand my goals. I appreciated the fact that she came up with a thorough plan and that she then explained it to me in detail. She also took the time to see if the plan would fit into my busy schedule.

I have worked with Janet for three months and have not only seen improvement in my leg strength, but my results as well! I recently won the 40-49 age category in a triathlon and this is something I really hadn’t thought was possible. Janet has helped to not only prepare me for this season, but has helped me to understand the areas where I need to continue to improve. Most importantly I have enjoyed her workouts and now look forward to them. Thanks Janet!Jay

I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life and I’ve tried to lose weight many many times. I’ve had gym memberships and trainers and nothing ever stuck and in fact I continually and consistently gained weight. I’d had enough and decided to do something to really change and lose weight for good. I’ve been seeing Janet 3 months and have lost over 40 pounds and I feel great. She’s given me the tools I need to lose weight and to maintain my weight loss like providing me with nutritional advice/education so that I am aware of the impact of my food choices, this I will have for the rest of my life. She constantly challenges me in our workouts together and changes my program regularly to make sure of it. Our sessions are not only challenging but fun and interesting, Janet devotes attention to me every session. Janet genuinely cares about me and about all of her clients and it means a lot to have a trainer who is so invested in my progress and well being.licia G.
